Member of Technical Staff is the engineering title at DSCO. The posted range is wide, and placement within it reflects demonstrated capability rather than years of experience.
The role works on the DSCO Health Engine, the platform underlying RUO Pro and Polymer. Scope includes storefront provisioning, catalog and compliance systems, document and e-signature pipelines, and the data model for research-use-only commerce.
Responsibilities
- Take problems from an ambiguous initial description through to production, including specification, testing and operation.
- Design the systems underlying the products, covering data models, service boundaries and deployment, and operate them in production.
- Apply AI tooling to increase throughput without reducing the quality standard applied to the output.
- Work directly with the people using the products. There is no product management layer between engineering and the customer.
- Work within a regulated domain, where compliance requirements inform system design from the outset.
Qualifications
- Substantial software you have built and shipped, preferably work you owned rather than contributed to.
- Depth in TypeScript and modern React or Next.js, with sufficient range to work across infrastructure, databases and unfamiliar languages.
- Judgment about scope, including what not to build.
- Experience in a regulated domain, or a demonstrated ability to learn one thoroughly.
